Inside a question element, you can add one or more answer elements (but only one of each type).
Answer Types
- Text Answer provides a text input field in Valuatic Touch.
- Single Select Answer is a multiple-choice answer type, where the user can select one option of many.
- Multi Select Answer is a multiple-choice answer type, where the user can select multiple options.
Each of these answer types has common configuration possibilities:
Mandatory
By default, an answer is mandatory. But it can be set to optional. This is useful in a scenario where multiple answer elements are defined in a question.
On Valuatic Touch, a mandatory answer is highlighted with darker colors. This makes it easier for the user to see what needs to be answered.
Visibility
By default, an answer element is visible. If the answer is optional, it can also be hidden. This option is useful in combination with the Modifiers functionality, which allows a change of state (mandatory & visible) of an answer based on user selection of other answer elements.
Placement
A question element provides three areas on Valuatic Touch, where answer elements can be placed. Each multiple-choice answer can have different visual representations. Depending on the answer type, the visual representation, and the positioning defined in Valuatic Studio, the answers are placed in different areas.
A text answer is placed in either area 2 or area 3. Which of these is chosen depends on other answer elements inside the question.
- The single select answer is placed in area 1 or area 3 depending on the visual configuration.
- The multi select answer type is always placed in area 1 of the question.
The following examples showcase the placement of the answer elements depending on the position inside a question:
