A device appears in Valuatic Studio, but it has been disconnected from the server. How to remove it?

  1. Currently, this is not possible within the Valuatic applications. Nevertheless, you can do it manually by connecting to the server using an application such as Cyberduck, FileZilla, ForkLift, etc.
  2. First, you need the id of the device. Open Valuatic Touch on the device, open the admin screen, and select the Device entry to see the device id.
  3. On the server, open the devices directory and search for a child directory matching the device ID.
  1. Note: This directory contains uploaded result files. Be sure they are saved on a computer before deleting the directory!

Valuatic Touch has no permissions to connect to the server.

  1. Launch the Settings app on your iPad running iPadOS 14 or a later version.
  2. Tap on Privacy in the left menu.
  3. Tap on Local Network.
  4. On the next screen, you should see the list of all the apps that have requested permission to find and communicate on your local network.

How to replace a faulty tablet?

  1. Retrieve the result files and the assignment file using the Apple Devices app.
  2. Connect the replacement device and put the assignment file on the device.
  3. When you start Valuatic Touch, it will read the results and reorganize them into the correct folders, merging pre existing results if necessary.
  4. Optionally add also the Server Credentials file, to automatically connect the device with the server.

We are aware that time might be critical in a practical exam.
If time constraints or a technical issue, such as a completely discharged battery, prevent you from performing the above steps immediately, please contact the responsible staff.

Note: We suggest that you always have pre-configured replacement devices at hand to give to an examiner for such cases.

It is always possible to create new assessments on a replacement device. You can add the results (as described above) from the faulty device to the replacement device later.

Note: When you add a result file onto a device already having results, the results will not be replaced but merged.
